There are many things that students can do besides academics, dorm life being one of the options. At Hawthorne, students get the opportunity to live on the campus and experience what it is really like to be a committed hero, guardian, villain, or royal. Sorted by personality, character, and similarities, each of the Dorms serve as a way to connect with others outside of their designated track, meet people with the same interests, and go outside of comfort zones. There are five Dorms – Tatylus, Lynxan, Calyx, Fractals, and Balenti – all of them with their own values and strengths. Listed below are short descriptions of each of the Hawthorne Dorms.

Professor Damien Platt welcomes you to the Tatylus Dorm, home of the strong willed and great leaders. Tatylus members take pride in their strong work ethics, balance and ability to work well with others which is why our symbol is also that of the Yin and Yang. The dorm is well known for giving rise to Heroes and Royalty! Members of the Tatylus Dorm are expected to work hard and help cheer on their fellow members. The colors of the house are representative of the qualities as well. Turquoise represents open communication from and between the heart and the spoken word. Additionally, turquoise and silver are colors that denote balance and harmony, creativity and inspiration, compassion and empathy.
Professor Langsworth welcomes you to Lynxan, the dorm for those that are driven by challenges and passion. Students from this dorm burn bright like the fire represented in Lynxan’s crest, and they are ambitious enough to pursue their objectives relentlessly; fighters – either with actions or words – that do not back away from defending a cause they believe in. Lynxan members are often considered combative and determined, and they possess a resolution that can not be matched. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, therefore, that this dorm is often responsible for giving rise to Heroes, Villains and Guardians that struggle for their ideals. Welcome to our family, on which leadership and strength of character are considered to be expected, if not required, characteristics for each one of you.
Professor Kinsley warmly welcomes you to the Calyx dorm, a place for those who are most noted for their friendly nature, loyalty, optimism, and desire for peace and happiness. They’re excellent listeners and if you’re ever feeling down, those of the Calyx dorm are the ones to turn to. It is not surprising that our dorm is famous for giving rise to many noteworthy Royalty and Guardian track members. The symbol of Calyx is a sunflower; a flower famous for its resemblance to the Sun. Often sunflowers are illustrated pointing towards the Sun which can symbolizes always looking to the bright side of life, a trait found often in Calyx members. The color of our dorm is magenta which can mean both harmony and happiness which when paired with the sunflower very nicely sums up the values and traits of those who belong in Calyx.
Welcome to the Fractals dorm, a place for those most known for their ability to think outside of the box. This dorm is filled with members who are a bit quirky and they tend to have artistic abilities, whether in physical or performing arts. Fractals are known to be fond of helping others, though they prefer to do so outside of the spotlight. They help for the sense of duty, not the recognition that comes from doing for others. The fractals dorm has given rise to many heroes and guardians, many of whom have received the highest honors for their deeds. The infinity symbol is what signifies this dorm, and with good reason, as it represents the endlessness and limitless opportunities for those with creativity and who want to think outside of the box. The colors of the dorm are orange and black. The first represents a gentle and warm restraint as well the an uplifting confidence that radiates from fractal members. The second represents power, strength, elegance, and sophistication. The dorm symbol and colors make for an accurate description of who fractals are and what they wish to achieve in the future.
In this dorm you will find yourself mingling with those are very logic driven, and use their wit to find a loophole to nearly any situation. Those who call this dorm home however are not merely students with their noses in books, for the students of Balenti crave adventure. Those who find their way here typically tend to lean towards the Heroic and the Villainous tracks of study, and are represented by the Sigil of a tree crossed with a sword, as well as the color forest green.
